Sounds Like
"Propelling themselves like wind thru throats into unique vibrations of sound, The Soapbox Poets have taken Biz Markie's urging to "make the music with your mouth" and transformed it into a unique brand of beatbox driven soul. Chloe Smith's deep, throaty vocals harken the energy of a mountaintop wind channeled into earthy song and scat, while Blank Space keeps the beat sounding like he swallowed a sampler and some drum machines - dropping the beat only to drop lyrical science on his clients. and these clients are anybody who takes the time to listen. The Soapbox Poets take their unique sound of spoken word a la jazz to the streets, to the bars, to the cafes and anywhere else they go. Their voices are asking to be heard, and they are well worth hearing."

Random Adjective + Blank Space = The Soapbox Poets
Random Adjective and Blank Space met in the summer of 2004 and attended several open mics together though performed as solo artists. They enjoyed open jams together with other local artists but it wasn't until Alex's return to Victoria from the Outspoken Wordsmiths Cross-Canada tour that they decided to form the explosive duo known as The Soapbox Poets.
"With Random Adjective's unique jazz & soul stylings infused with infectious thought
provoking lyrics from both parties combined with Blank Space's mood altering,
catchy and driving beats they deliver a sound like no other."

Working with Chloe in this duo is challenging my beatboxing and freestylin on a daily basis to reach everchanging limits. Our fusion of "Beatbox Driven Soul" is raising my awareness of music and increasing my comfort zone in creating more.

Awesome! The world can *always* use more acapella and beatboxing. You should check out "Episode 2 - Spiders & Beatboxing" from "Pocket Co. TV", we think you'll like it. The beatboxing is towards the end of the show (it's under 5 minutes).
