About Povera:
Povera (Jaime Carrera's third evening-length work) focuses on the struggles of existence as a working artist with virtually zero financial resources.

Creating with what's at hand whilst weathering the constant burden of food and shelter, as well as, how one is perceived by the nine-to-five segment of the population.

About Artery 24:
Artery 24 showcases Twin Cities and International artists approaching performance from a myriad of backgrounds in synthesis with screenings of new media work. For each hour of the twenty-four hour period a different artist/dancer/musician/puppeteer/actor or collaboration of the aforementioned will be featured. Artery 24 is a non-stop engagement and an act of endurance, daring the will of the spectator to attend for as long as possible, but also to come and go as they please upon the hour.

About GODLESS:

A show about atheism from the point of view of someone raised in a strict conservative catholic environment who, at age 13, began to reject his own family's faith, organised religion in general, and eventually, the notion of god.
Rarely discussing his atheism in youth for fear of the typical annoying attempts to "save" his soul, and gradually finding like-minded individuals and information, but finding most material on the subject too academic and a bit dull.
In his second full stage show, Jaime Carrera addresses several hypocrisies of the church, from the convenience of god's forgiveness in confession, to love thy neighbor though god hates fags, equating atheists with satanists (who worship another imaginary entity), and the ever-popular "fear of god".
Mixing humour and performance to create a pop art version of blasphemous fun!

THE GATES - HBO Screening
Thursday, February 7, 2008
7-10pm
FREE
Reception at 7pm
Screening at 8pm

In 1979, artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude proposed one of the largest public works of art in history: a “golden river” of 7,503 fabric-paneled gates in Central Park. Transcending controversy, it was finally completed in 2005.

THE GATES, directed by Antonio Ferrera, Albert Maysles, David Maysles and Matthew Prinzing, chronicles the artists’ 26-year commitment to transform the winter darkness of the park into a garden of light and color, bringing art to the people of New York City.

Reservations are required. Call 1-866-717-6072 to reserve your seats.
