   About The Social Services
The Social Services are two thirds Glaswegian and one third Swedish, so that explains their combined love of nature and cholesterol. Their nomadic lifestyle and frustration with the world around them inspire them to write songs about war, death, consumerism, being an immigrant, storage solutions, potatoes and swimming. They rant without being shouty and they love it when everybody joins in on the sing-a-long choruses.

Here's what some people out there have to say about TSS:

"Put you in mind of the best bits of The Divine Comedy, Camera Obscura and British Sea Power...playful but bittersweet. There’s even space for politics and even moments of sweeping melancholy that gives this album more depth than the rambunctious surface vibe might first suggest."
The List (4*)

"Sweetly comic, unexpectedly poignant"
The Skinny (4*)

"The Social Services’ full-length debut is one of the most fun things to happen to pop music in a long time."
Playground magazine

"Somehow they manage to find a golden path between dirty British realism and sugary Swedish pop (...) with sparkling texts and tight melodies."
www.dagensskiva.com

"Rich in wit and vocal harmonies (...) the strength is in the vocals, and The Social Services play to this strength well."
Clash magazine

"Their sound is very melodramatic with hints of drama and melancholy. The songs are very well thought out and come tightly wrapped with some rather fine melodies. There are even hints of the old music halls in how the songs are arranged and sung. Clever stuff."
www.indie-mp3.co.uk

"The Social Services are a promising up-and-coming indiepop band out of Stockholm - cute, not cloying, more bittersweet than sweet and overall, incredibly charming. Another thing I like about them is their outsider status and the way it comes through in their songs."
www.itsatrap.com

"The best thing I’ve heard all year (...) is the new song by The Social Services called 'Baltic Sea'."
www.swedesplease.net

Hi there, thanks for your great comments.
I really enjoyed your music, had planned to go to Sweden in summer but it never happened (have friends there from travel)
We should all get together and have a jam. If you like stars, then you will love it when Mike sings vocals aswell, he couldnt make the recording, but we still play as a band when we can BECAUSE ITS MORE FUN ! (and sounds better I reckon : ))
Hope to see you sometime soon!

Lovin your stuff, keep enjoying Scotland.

Hey!

We just recently finished our EP and are so proud, all the hard work payed off! If you have a few minutes please give it a listen and tell us what you think :)

"Exciting, Striding and assured. It has an energy reminiscant of everything that was good about the Klaxons debut album.." - BBC Radio Bristol.

"The overall sound echoes that of Bloc Party but with greater conviction and sophistication. Go see them live if you can." - iTunes review.

It's also available to buy through our website and itunes if you really do like it.
