''Balloon'', the opener of their brand new album, is unbelievable beautiful indie pop rock!!! ''Bruxelles'' and ''Heroine'' have the same spirit, while the others (especially ''Wavesofwater'') are again Sarah influenced guitar pop and the loops & melodies will make you dream again. Fantastic album! (Indie Pages, Feb. 2006).

if you have more time: the soda stream in 25 lines
in retrospect, the soda stream were not founded consciously. as time passed by, we realised that a band had started to exist and that every single one of us was part of it. first there were lars and frank, which were unable to record their songs on a 4-track. that’s why they asked christoph to help them out with some technical equipment and to add some guitar parts.
these three recorded a 3-track-tape called 'grapefruit-EP', that was going to be released under the same title on marsh-marigold records. at that time alexa joined the band. she played a marvellous flute on an unfortunately never released bonus-track. at the end 1996 arne and björn joined the soda stream because we needed someone to play the keyboards and drums for the annual marsh-marigold christmas-festival.
in the winter of 1999/2000 the soda stream started the recordings of their first long player. 'hotel pacific' contains 8 songs and three exclusive remixes by optique and clubkraft. at the time we used to rehearse on a former speedway racetrack, where we had car races, barbecues and endless sessions till we finally thought it was time for another album.
'all the things you are' (2005) originated within a time frame of two years and comprises nine songs, which have been worked on in hamburg, munich, lyons and paris. contrary to the first album the band was in charge of most of this production process. therefore the album contains a studio and furthermore homely atmosphere.
noticing the wide range of influences on the album (guitar pop meets traditional rock-riffs, electronica amalgamates with transverse flute and trombone, drifty beats reach out to unwound rhythms) we had the idea of using the tapes for a proper remix-album. we spoke to a couple of friends about the project and fortunately almost everyone accepted to do a remix.
the result is our third album, called 'RMX'. it features contributions by das b-team, dr. burnzen, clubkraft, herztechnik, optique, saar07 and spruce!
and unlike most remix albums, this one is for free!
