The Soft Eyes is what happens if two boys and one girl born in three different northern cities, grown up in quite boring surroundings listening to cassette tapes of good and bad music starting playing music to fill their lives with something really meaningful and then meeting up in Stockholm realizing that they are all short-sighted, have the same thyroid disease, vote for the same party and happen to have the same idea of what kind of band to play in and then starting that band and finally making an album with it...
Some might say that The Soft Eyes are a side project since we all play in other bands too (The Concretes, my Orchard & Marit Bergman's to name a few) but that sounds really dull. We would just like to say that it's "our band".
The kind of band we wanted to form when we met a couple of years ago is an easy going one, that plays with instruments you can carry, doesn't spend day after day rehearsing and that records the songs as soon as possible after they are written on whatever there's at hand.
The old sPrinG stuff was good. It was all recorded before the "But Almost" ELEVATOR tribute. We did a full concept album as a two piece studio thing then an ep we did as a three piece with two drummers and me on guitar. We also recorded a load more songs that are still half finished cos me and alice started a family and that got in the way of the band. I've carried on doing bits and pieces with another band and a while back set up this page to show off the old sPrinG stuff cos someone asked me about it. When I did that I thought it would be good to contact some people involved in the "but Almost" thing. How are your bands going?
