"The Soft White Sixties channel 60s R&B beautifully, but bring it up to us with melodies that are current, fresh and with a rolling lyrical movement....They would get the dance band award of the evening perhaps."
- American Songwriter TV
Musicians Aaron Ferguson and Octavio Genera of The Soft White Sixties were introduced to each other through mutual friends at a party in the summer of 2007. The two quickly became friends and found a common interest in starting a band that embodied the energy of Rock and Roll with the attention to melody and smoothness found in Soul.
In April of 2008 while at a party in the Lower Haight of San Francisco, Octavio and Aaron were playing acoustically with a group of friends and caught the attention of Joey Bustos, former drummer of bay area bands Link 80, DESA and Street to Nowhere. Just days later, Joey called on longtime friend and former band-mate Ryan Noble (front man to local bands Link 80 and DESA) to fill in on Bass. In May of 2008 the band was officially formed and played its first
show opening for Matt Embree of the Rx Bandits at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco.
The band is consistently playing shows throughout the Bay Area and Northern California.
