Got problems? You've found The Solution: A Baltimore-area acoustical duet that was founded on the principals of good music and good times. They play all of your classic and modern rock favorites, but The Solution provides their own unique twist- an acoustic guitar driven by intense percussion and vocal harmonization gives this 2-piece group a "full band" sound!
Maybe you've seen them at your local pub? Maybe at a St. Patrick's Day festival? Maybe at your cousin's wedding? Whatever. The bottom line is: if you're from the Baltimore area, you've probably seen them somewhere. With their talent, good looks and knowledge of domestic beer, it's no wonder that they've gone from rags to... well... better rags in such a short amount of time.
It all began on a humid summer evening in July of 2000. Percussionist/vocalist Mike Needer met with guitarist/vocalist Pat Owens at a small recording studio in Pasadena to lay down a few original tracks. Little did they know that their worlds... and everyone else's world... and the entire 21st century would be changed forever. Well, maybe not that last part.
The music was inevitable. The timing was perfect. All they needed was the personnel- so they met with other musicians and quickly formed a 5-piece band. However, Mike and Pat wanted more. They sought the passion and energy of a "full band", but also the intimacy of a small, acoustic act. Their wish was promptly granted. They formed a 2-piece group and began playing in local dock bars and the Fells Point/Canton area. Several band members have come and gone over the years, but through it all Mike & Pat have been (and always will be) the backbone of The Solution!
