SCOTT BELLUZ is a versatile singer whose repertoire encompasses the music of the baroque through to newly composed works. Recent performances reflect this versatility and include his American debut singing Monteverdi with Chicago Opera Theatre as well as singing four brand new short operas with Tapestry New Opera. Following studies at the University of Toronto and the Banff Centre for the Arts, Scott completed a Master's Degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England and also studied at the C.N.I.P.A.L. in France while performing extensively throughout Europe. His artistry has been informed and inspired through studies in vocal improvisation with Rhiannon and masterclasses with the chansonnier HK Gruber. Vocalist JESSICA LLOYD, is at home in many diverse styles of music. From Elgar's Sea Pictures, to the role of Magda Sorel in Menotti's The Consul, to recitals dedicated to the music of Spain and Latin America, Jessica has been afforded opportunities to work with such ensembles as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Nathaniel Dett Chorale, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, The Orpheus Choir of Toronto, the Rice University Symphony Orchestra and the North York Symphony Orchestra. In her non-classical pursuits, Jessica was formerly the female singer with the Billy Ledbetter Orchestra, a big band from Houston, TX. She was also a founding member of a pop, R&B, motown, and folk a cappella trio called wayward sister, featured on a CD compilation, “Winter By the Lake” produced by Joe Wolf (Earth, Wind and Fire; Lionel Richie). In Toronto, Jessica performs frequently with Louis Simão and FAIA, a band with its roots in Lusophone music. Currently Jessica lives in Toronto where she is a member of the Studio Company of Tapestry new opera works. ---------
Winner of the 2007 "World Music" category in the USA Songwriting Competition, the 2005 OCFF’s "Songs From The Heart", and a finalist of the 2006 USA Songwriting Competition, multi-instrumentalist and composer LOUIS SIMÃO has been performing and recording on bass, piano, accordion, guitar, and vocals in Canada, the U.S. and Europe for over a decade. His diverse skills have afforded him the opportunity to work with talented artists in a variety of genres, such as Nelly Furtado, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Eliana Cuevas, Michael Occhipinti & The Sicilian Jazz Project, Justin Rutlidge and the Junction Forty, Tapestry New Opera Works, The Andrew Scott Quartet, The Lester McLean Trio, The Clayton/Scott Group, Fourteen Remembered, Fritz McIntyre of Simply Red, as well as Somerset/Avalon Records. As a composer, Louis's modern and eclectic approach combines an improvisational sensibility alongside folk traditions. With som livre (free sound) at the heart of his musical philosophy, Simão's compositions combine Portuguese folk songs, fado, samba and other Brazilian genres, as well as African music and jazz.
