This blues-surf-rockabilly combo from Des Moines, Iowa, plays more than 100 dates a year throughout Iowa and the Midwest.
Their self-titled CD has sold copies across the U.S. and in 12 countries. Bruce Iglauer, founder of Alligator Records, says of the CD: "This was a very enjoyable listen; everyone plays blues with a real sense of tradition, no desire to show off, and real ensemble work. Nicely done; thanks for sharing the good music."
The band, inspired by the likes of Bobby Blue Bland, Freddie King, Chris Isaak, Marc Ribot, T-Bone Walker, Tom Waits and Little Walter, has evolved into an incredibly tight ensemble that recalls the bands like The Paladins, Anson Funderburgh, James Harman and the late (great) Gary Primich.
The lineup: Scott Eggleston (guitar), Erich Gaukel (upright and electric bass), Nick Leo (piano and Rhodes) and Sam Mogerman (drums). Email thesoulsearchers@gmail.com for booking.
