After a short lived career as a Michael Mcdonald impersonator and genie, Shannon Fortune isolated himself in a cave somewhere in the arid climates of the Detroit Peninsula where he attended a secret ninja school and subsequently discovered the remains of an archaic and crudely built musical instrument once known as the “6 string Meat Whistle” or for short “guitar”. Shannon is also credited with the discovery of the record wheel table and the left-handed digital cheese grater.
After a stint as a Alligator salesman and Charm Coach Daniel Crane embarked upon a spiritual journey through the vast dry lands of Chicago Minor where he discovered and refined his “Unified Pulse theory”. This theory asserts the drum set should act as a console of explosives, the sticks triggers, the heads detonators. “if the drummer is playing correctly onlookers should be hit with flying shrapnel causing a severe of discomfort”.
All joking aside Daniel & Shannon are two serious and experienced musicians with love for what they do, and respect for those sharing it. “You can juke to Electro, two-step to Delta Blues and then slow dance to tales of Zombies at our shows” says vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Shannon.
The Sound Conspiracy is really a number of things: Jazz, Hip-Hop, Samba, Afro-Cuban, Indigenous Folk Music, Mash-ups and Live Electro/Acoustic with Pop sensibility. “We are attempting to strike a perfect union between songwriting and improvisation” say’s
Daniel.
They both insist that they don’t think of the people who like their music or live performances as “fans” in the conventional sense but more like co-conspirators.

THE DIARY Volume 1.5 (20 Years of the Remix) now available for free download at WWW.MUSICOFSUBSTANCE.COM!
“This CD just shows how much Chris Read knows about historic Hip Hop production techniques - Its just a shame he wasn't creating this stuff during the eras he's covering as we would probably rate the man as being up there with Paul C, Pete Rock, Premier and all! - I can't think of another Hip Hop CD I've played so much in years” (ANDY SMITH - PORTISHEAD)
"Chris continues the rap anthology concept of his super-dope 'The Diary' megamix in the shape of a remix project, re-lacing acapellas from 89-2009 with historically accurate beats. 'The Diary 1.5' serves as a great platform for Chris to showcase his ample beat-making skills whilst referencing those who've inspired him." (DJ WOODY - FORMER WORLD ITF CHAMPION)
“Wicked! The perfect companion to The Diary Mixtape. Shows an impressive knowledge of sounds from all eras.” (MR THING - FORMER WORLD DMC CHAMPION)
"Crazy! This is Rap History in the making. Chris proves his production skills on this one to the fullest. A wonderful and refreshing journey through all eras of hip hop. Double thumbs up!" (MARC HYPE - FORMER ITF CHAMPION)
