Edinburgh Dream Factory is the latest news in Edinburgh and has been whipping the city’s underground scene into a creative frenzy since it’s inception last November. http://www. noiseporn. com/index. php?s=Edinburgh+Dream+Factory WE ARE LIVE THIS FRIDAY ! EMAIL admin@edinburghdreamfactory.co.uk TO JOIN OUR MAILING LIST, AND WE'LL SEND YOU AN ALBUM WORTH £7. 00 FOR FREE ! CHILL OUT AND WATCH OUR NEW VIDEO
Hello, and thanks for allowing me onto your page. I really hope you manage to get this project finished as the whole Postcard scene really needs to be celebrated and archived properly. I hope the recent 'Caledonia Dreaming' programme on BBC4 hasn't stolen any of your thunder. Mind you I'm pretty sure your film won't try to draw a parallel with Deacon Blue, Del Amitri and Wet Wet Wet etc. What was that all about!!! Where were the references to The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Pastels, Primal Scream, Eugene Kelly, The Orchids or The Fire Engines??? Talk about airbrushing!
It's 2008 and I'm many miles from where I was born screaming. I'm running a project called Edinburgh Dream Factory which seems to be aimed skyward, and I've just recieved another email from Utah Saints asking how things are going with the Dream Factory. They've just finished the video shoot for thier single Something Good '08" http://vids. myspace. com/index. cfm?fuseaction=vids. individual&VideoID=27943087 and their off to promote it in the states in March.
You see, when you push your little boat out, and just say "Yes", things happen. The point of Edinburgh Dream Factory is not to act as some kind of dream catching devise, it exists to fire poeple up, so they can go off and do thier own thing, and do it in style (Whilst listening to great music at the same time :D ).
Edinburgh Dream Factory hit the road next month. Come and join our party, and share your dreams at;

After the success of our first night, we’re more than excited for this, and again, we’d love to see you there, let us know if you’ll be around… Sat 1st March 2008:Doors 8pm / £5 Pounds Sterling BRICOLAGE & ISOSCELES with dj set by Port Sulphur The Creeping Bent Organisation present a new pre-club evening at the Glasgow School of Art. On the first Saturday of each month NEW BREED aims to provide a platform for the most interesting neo-pop emerging from the underground. BRICOLAGE have been perfecting their louche pop over the past couple of years. Live dates have included sortes with an eclectic array (Fire Engines, Long Blondes, Sun Ra’s Arkestra, 1990s, Vic Godard & Subway Sect, Franz Ferdinand), whilst three singles have been recorded for esteemed labels (Creeping Bent, Fantastic Plastic, Memphis Industries). A new single (Footsteps Redux) is released on Memphis Industries on 17th March. ISOSCELES building an impressive rep since releasing their debut single, Get Your Hands Off, on the ever excellent Art Goes Pop label(Leeds). This release resulted in substantial radio support, which in turn brought Isosceles to the attention of Franz Ferdinand. Franz invited Isosceles to accompany them on tour, which created quite a stushie among the more turned – on members of the A&R community. A new single is currently in preparation. I am very pleased to launch, and invite you to come visit us at, our fantastic new website www.edinburghdreamfactory.co.uk
The site was put together by Ewan "Stitch" Chamings, and it is hosted by www.ifdnrg.com who are based right here in Edinburgh.
The project was a natural extention to our ever popular myspace site www.myspace.com/edinburghdreamfactory
The idea began to take shape late last year with a kick start of encouragement from Bill Drummond, and in the short time since it has really gathered momentum, with some of the leading members of the local arts and music scenes, and even rave legends Utah Saints lending their encouragement to the project.
A U.K. tour begins on wednesday 19th March at Belfast Music Club www.myspace.com/belfastmusicclub and brings the party to Edinburgh on Thursday 27th March at Red Star Institute www.myspace.com/redstarinstitute
The thing I'm most excited about is our new music store http://www.edinburghdreamfactory.co.uk/1-2-3-music-store/process.php?pname=ShowAlbumDetailsProcess-Start&CategoryID=CategoryID&AlbumID=1 where you can listen to samples of all the tracks from our brand new debut album "Stitch And Flow", and safely purchase our HIGH QUALITY MP3's via PAYPAL ! A single track will only cost you £1, and you'll save £2 if you buy the album now for only £7!
It really is a great album. A quick listen to track 2 "Beatz Workin" should confirm the fact that Edinburgh is more than ready to take it's sounds to an international stage, and win ! Never mind the fact that we invented a new genre with "Real Acid Jazz", or perfectly captured the summer festival vibe on "Cow Bass".
Step back, 'cos this is about to go off.
Glad you're on board, and many thanks for you're continued support.
Madchester, Boxing Day Bash, Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh. 11pm until Extra Late, Hope to catch u there, as usual it will be a Mad one! Have a Great Chrimbo, hope Santa is good to ya! Madchester x
If you’re going to be making a video short over the holiday season why not get an entry in for the Cinema With a Big See competition. Full details at ScotVid.com
After the success of the Science with a Big See competition, Cinema With a Big See is going Scotlandwide, online and open to films of all kinds.
In association with TayScreen, sponsor, Dundee Prototypical Simulations is working with Scotland’s own YouTube, ScotVid.com and this time there’ll be four prizes up for grabs – a total of £2,000.
Anyone over the age of 16 and based in Scotland can submit an entry in the general or science categories, as either an amateur or professional film-maker.
And it’s a great chance for film-makers to get their work in front of judges like top UK promo producer Simon PoonTip, whose company works with bands like Candi Payne and the View.
The closing date for entries is Friday, 1st February 2008. Go to ScotVid.com for more information or to submit an entry.
Sorry, only open to entrants resident in Scotland. But if that means you’re excluded, why not move north of the border to work or study. Come and find out why everyone is talking about Dundee.
