Sourpuss Dj's have been rocking dance floors in the Uk and across Europe, and now in their 9th year of operations are still demonstrating what is needed to keep with the times and still remain true to the roots on which they were established. There’s only one guarantee in a Sourpuss set and that’s high energy breaks, from which anything can be unleashed. Drum n bass, Jungle, Dubstep and electro are commonly found lurking in the depths of their 90 minute sets with Grum almost permanently fixed to the scratch mixer, and a collaboration of visual artists it’s an action packed ride which will almost certainly leave you gasping for more.
Sourpuss aren’t just a couple of Dj's who've played around the block, they’re own events have featured in Mixmag’s best events of the north and between them, they have worked with and run some of the most successful events in the Uk. They've enjoyed residencies at Tangled, Chew the Fat, Metropolis, Fuse (Winner of 'Best Small Club' @ Breakspoll in 2008) and many more, also performing at the Metropolis/Radio 1 NYE party in 2004 and having featured alongside acts including Pendulum, Krafty Kuts, Dreadzone (whom they accompanied to headline the Bootcamp festival in Mamaia, Romania 07), Orbital, Nicky Blackmarket and an endless list of big name acts these guys are a sure bet to be in the game for years to come.
Sourpuss consists of Chris Pope, Ed Maxwell, Ash Howell and Graham Wynn. As one they create a unique experience but individually they are all busy with their own projects and aspirations for the future.
Chris broke off (but hasn't left) in 2006 to begin on the 'Unbalanced Jack' project which has since seen him propelled to new levels. A Dubstep crossover act which delves into the realms of nu-skool breaks production has helped them establish a name for themselves with support from Mary Anne Hobbs, Icey, Tayo, Jay Cunning(Kiss Fm), The Prodigy and much more. With releases on Broke records and Functional and many more on the verge of release alongside an increasing gig schedule things are most definitely moving in the right direction.
Ed Maxwell who was sat in room alongside Chris when the Sourpuss idea was born back in 99' is one of the key members of the team. No matter what happened, what music became dull against what became popular, Ed was always there to ensure that the rest of the team never gave up on the roots. You can guarantee when you hear the first real filthy breaks track drop it'll be Ed at the decks and the aftermath will be a messy state of affairs. Ed has been working nonstop for many years now helping with various youth projects in the Lancashire region, building strong bonds with the council and creating some truly unique experiences for some of the local communities. He has a level of respect and decency throughout the area, that Lancashire can be classed as his oyster as such.
Ash Howell who is the shortest serving member of the team exploded onto the Lake Districts rave scene after the turn of the millennium. Rapidly moving through the ranks it wasn’t long before he hit the clubs and in no time found himself playing gigs he'd only ever dreamt off. Within a matter of months of his first non rave or party experience he had 2 residencies and was running his own night in Manchester and from then has never looked back. Now actively involved in his own events in Leeds, Manchester and Lancaster and with a foot in the door at various festivals in the Uk alongside the Sourpuss project much remains to be seen.
Graham Wynn, aka Grum is probably one of the most fundamental yet unrecognized members of the team. Providing the live sets with the party vibe, his specialist area performing precise scratching and all sorts of chaotic wizardry through an Apple Mac and 1210 turntable this is the heart of the energy to be heard. He's been actively involved with Lancashire's 'More Music' project over the past few years which is a community music organization providing workshops, performances, training and festivals year-round for people of all ages and abilities.
Between them 2009 and beyond is a good sight, with festival residencies, Clubnight residencies and overseas tours on the horizon there is much to look forwards to and much to be thankful for. If interested in booking Sourpuss contact us at bookings@sourpuss.info.

Here we have the return of Digital Base to iBreaks.
This release has been played for quite a while receiving some amazing feedback from every artist who’s been supplied with the track.
The Climax, great summery track with the characteristic Digital Base vibe, full of intensity and melody. This track could easily fit from any dj playing in Ibiza to any breaks dj trying to get the girls shacking their body to the beats. A clear win win situation with The Climax and once again another great track under the iBreaks brand.
New World Order sees Digital Base in the remix duties, revamping one of the biggest track of all times in Dead Famous Records. The original track by Robosapiens has been reworked by mr Base injecting it with tons of groove good feel and squeezing the massive Stephen Hawking vocals… This is the New World Order!!!!
