The Southern Kill was born in late July of 2007. Jojo, Justin, and Jeff are originally from Santa Fe, Texas. Colby moved to Houston, Texas when he was 6 from Little Rock, Arkansas. The three J’s had past musical experiences with one another which led them to form a brotherhood of sorts. When the band that they had originally formed decided to go their separate ways the three J’s decided to continue playing without a lead vocalist. The crew went without a lead vocalist for nearly a year! (That wreaks havoc on a man’s sex life!) The band went through numerous vocal tryouts until Colby took a good fuckin whack at it in mid 2007. At first styles seemed to clash and both parties had mixed feelings about playing music with one another. A week later they decided to give it another shot and so was born the song we call Cancer.

From that day forward it has been the top priority of The Southern Kill to strive to be the best Rock N’ Roll band they could be. They are constantly focusing on their main objective. First and foremost to creating music that they love. They want everyone to take what they will from their music with the understanding that there is always an underlying message. “Outside the lines is where we reside.” –T.S.K.-
