Shona (of Nanobot fame) and
Penny (of Superfluff and Midimode fame) and a whole ream of drummers including Andy (of Hormonauts fame), Go-Go (of Poison Sisters fame), MAD (of superslinky fame), George, Brian, Maz, Jim, Euan....the list goes on
Influences
bad relationships, good relationships, the horrible awful truth, the news, telly, the other members in the band, money, jobs, crushes, obsessions, compulsions, books, other bands......
Sounds Like
fronted by Penny and Shona, two outrageous, limelight-blagging girls and backed by a series of drummers (16 over 10 years) the Space Kittens produce a demented on-stage spectacle.
Everett True reckons them to be a 'full-pelt, dressed-up, female cross between something all heavy and hoary like Gwar, and something all heavy and hard like Frightwig'.
One suspects that the Glasgow based trio, like so many earthbound felines have undergone unspeakable tortures in the nursery at the hands of earth children, but for the moment at least the tables are turned....
jeepers, eh?
the space kittens started in 1991 I think, formed in a bedroom in the south side of glasgow by Penny and Shona. the last time they played was in london years ago but there is talk afoot of resurrecting the kitts - wahay!
Penny went on to be in superfluff who played t in the park as their first gig! it was a good innings for the fluff, but they only lasted about a year before exploding across the world to do their own things.
after that Penny formed midimode with the Douglarse and Shona began a new adventure with the nanobots...............oooooo
what lies ahead?
who knows?
Free night out at Mono featuring Nanobots playing the records of David Bowie and Elvis Presley and the odd Shirley Bassey record too. Why? because its their birthdays and some give aways too!Starts 8pm
Hi Penny,
Maybe you could put your Space Kitten capes on and fly ’round the world looking for her.
:-/
Ah well it just makes me so sad. I’ll never understand how anyone could be so cruel.
