...IF PUKKA PIES STARTED A RECORD LABEL. HMMM SPICY..!
'The Special Guest Stars' were created in 2006 with the intention of throwing everything Ian and I have learned, during the course of 25 years in bands together, into making a quality album, unrestricted by genre, time, place or fashion trends.
We are in the home straight as far as getting the album finished is concerned. Just three of the 24 tracks left to finish. We decided not to rush things and live with it for a while, trying to work out the best running order etc. Well, as it stands the album will have twenty tracks with the remaining four being released as a separate e.p. shortly after.
We're just recruiting members for the live band SO if you're an amazing musician, live in the Yorkshire area, and fancy attempting to be part of pulling this shit off live, please, don't hesitate to message us. We want to blow people's minds.
Just a few thanks to all those who have helped out, or encouraged us, so far...
Our friend Tim Hunt http://www.timothyhunt.net/ - for helping us get our artwork/website together.
Denzil and Stevlor... http://www.myspace.com/theindiehour - for being the first to catch on and spread the word (on the best radio show since Mark and Lard's heyday ioo).
Eve Wood http://www.sheffieldvision.com/ and Richard Heap http://www.slackjaw.co.uk/
Joolz at The Boardwalk... http://www.myspace.com/theboardwalk
Mark Ellis for those unbelievable sax solos... http://...com/lcardf - we are indeed honoured.
Simon C... for the piano licks I couldn't manage.
Tom Hannon... for making me remember why I do this.
Loz, Bil and Marn... Reasons To Be Cheerful Pts 1,2,3.
And, finally, to everyone in cyberspace who've said all those nice things... Ta.
Have fun,
