Heres a quick snippet !!
Something is stirring in the depths of a dark and dingy Dublin ghetto, the sound of a strange and yet compelling music is making its way into the ears of this once urbane city, a music that will wake the beast of creativity within all who walk her streets...
THE SPIKES have finished their debut album.
And soon to be released is the debut single ’Hypnotised’ its the lips licker we’ve been waiting for, a transcendental opus that walks along the few centimetres before the edge, untill finally, the explosive drop that is unnervingly welcome.
So this is it, they’ve opened the door once again; THE SPIKES greet you with the sound of a telecaster smashing over your head.
Just remember, bring your friends…
Described by the Irish Times as ‘energetic, stylish’, THE SPIKES unleashed their quality sound on the Dublin music scene little over a year ago, the stage show that has been turning heads ever since is unmatched amongst their peers and has not gone unnoticed in industry circles.
From bizarre beginnings in New Zealand in 2004 THE SPIKES have successfully set about re-establishing the niche for the rock ‘n’ roll four-piece. The combination of Peter Redmond, Gareth Lewis and Aaron Mulhall bring a mesmerising pulse to the group while front man Tom Dunne delivers not only the outfit’s drive but ‘a vocal performance that puts one in mind of a stripped-down The Zutons, with more than a hint of Joy Division.’ - Hotpress
‘Monster’ was a hugely positive debut for THE SPIKES, securing a placing in the Irish Singles Chart on its release and making a mark for independent Irish artists. ‘In Love No More’ saw THE SPIKES add to their rapidly growing fan base and maintain their reputation for ‘a killer melody’ and ‘thrillingly sleazy…production’ – Metro. Ninja Girlfriend, a piece of live genius with an unSpikes like tempo, brought a further element of continental sauciness! If you haven’t caught the show yet you need to witness one of THE SPIKES forthcoming performances - as The Irish Times have noted, ‘The Spikes…show the rest how it’s done’!
thanks for the support...please check out the info ... this could well be the last vote we get!! All other EU countries have been denied a vote on this ( since it would never pass!! ) sadly for them they couldnt get round the Irish constitution which assures us a vote please watch this video... its all the stuff our government is not telling us about the lisbon treaty..u will understand why.

Ah, Dublin... the size of a small house! Yes, I know Jasmine and I know Cathy and Liz mentioned your band to me, she was working on Cathys film as well. Liz is one of my nearest and dearest, or as she would say, my bitch. I can't hear your music on this PC but will check it out later. It looks a bit 1973 which makes me smile. I may be wrong though. Thanks for message Tom, do come to Whelans. It'll be mighty. Blessings...xxxj
