Unabashedly fusing Led Zeppelin rock, Beatles spirit, and Radiohead ambience, The Stack uses time-tested techniques to forge new and unheard musical horizons. Thanks to the members' strong musical backgrounds, The Stack is as melodic, rocking, and creative as anyone out there today.
The Stack's songs combine pounding riffs, rolling swing rhythms, and searing lead guitar, contrasted with acoustic ballads, found and treated noise, and unique songwriting.
Riding on a wave of popularity following several contest winnings, Slipstream, The Stack's debut album, was recorded and self-released in 2004. Selling over 800 copies, mainly in the Corvallis area, gave The Stack the momentum to record We are the Listeners, their sophomore album. WATL brings the band from the classic rock styles of Slipstream into their own carefully-crafted indie rock sound.
Released August 2006, We are the Listeners leaves in the classic licks and harmonies but adds in The Stack's own sound, full of detail, lush "wall of sound" arrangements, and unique lyrics. It includes songs written over the course of the previous 3 years, including blasts of funk guitar in "Take It," waves of static in "Pocket," gentle acoustic pop in "Years and Years," and a shaking frantic groove in "San Quentin." Psychedelic noise coexists with sugar-sweet melodies to create The Stack's sound, both familiar and like nothing you've ever heard before.

I invite any young (teens or early 20s and such) Corvallis and surrounding area musician to join the Corvallis Vibe. It was formed with the aim to increase our musical community and ease collaberation between artists and the formation of bands. Anyone is welcome so long as they are involved in the development or promotion of music. Any style is welcome. If you would like to join or have any questions, message me. Thanks!
