The Star Fighter Pilot is Martin Bryant from Manchester, England. Fusing noisy, dirty electronic pop with rock drums and a witty singer songwriter ethic, he bridges the gap between accessible pop and experimental electronica.
Influenced by people as diverse as Beck, Super Furry Animals, Chris T-T and Of Montreal; he makes music using his laptop, a bunch of computer programs and an overactive imagination.
His first two EPs, ‘Feeding & Chaining’ and ‘Alkaline Maisonette’ gained glowing reviews from the likes of Drowned In Sound, High Voltage magazine and Manchestermusic.co.uk.
In 2007 he released a 7” split EP alongside The Colt .45s on Leaving Home Records featuring ‘Another Penny’ and ‘Drunk With You’. Some nefarious fellow then shared ‘Another Penny’ as part of an unauthorised ‘Indie Playlist’ compilation album which has since been downloaded thousands of times and gained The Star Fighter Pilot fans around the world.
Playing a steady stream of gigs The Star Fighter Pilot has built up a strong live reputation. He sometimes appears onstage with choreographed dancers and has supported acts as diverse as Bis, Dragonette, Jeremy Warmsley and Scouting For Girls.
The ‘Kingdom Hearts’ EP was released by Filthy Little Angels as a download on www.filthylittleangels.co.uk on the 25th of May 2008. Click here to head to their site to download it! This will be followed by a contribution to a double 7” EP of one-minute-long songs (again through Filthy Little Angels) in the summer.
Ironic he may be now, iconic is something we could be using to describe The Star Fighter Pilot as being in years to come..- Drowned In Sound 8/10 review
The confident acumen of Bryant suggests an oh-so-very-nearly finished product; though with that said, you suspect he could put out an album right now that would better its rivals. Last year, HV thought it right to bestow top marks upon The Star Fighter Pilot, and with this latest offering, nothing has changed.- High Voltage 5/5 review
This is pure 21st Century living played out on cold, harsh digital circuitry, yet the resulting sounds provide campfire songs for urban revolutionaries. Atmospheric, insurrectionist observations are rife in The Star Fighter Pilots rhetoric....
Its refreshing that the Star Fighter Pilot is happy to mix his stratospheric synthetic orchestrations with such down to earth perspectives - yet this by no means overshadows the mighty pulse, of his cunningly computer crafted soundtracks"..- Manchestermusic.co.uk 5/5 Review
What a cracking name... Human League style synths and deadpanning and bleeps to carry the cool and cynical kind of lyrics that suit late nights, droll self deprecation and mild downers and 'Sunday' is the one that really captures that whole kind of Sheffield bloke with daft haircut and two suburban molls in a very, very good way. The Star Fighter Pilot, nice. - Unpeeled

It’s been far too long since I last said hello and so much has happened I thought it about time we said did.
We’ve changed a lot, now we are an “UltraModern, post-electro rock, post-nu rave behemoth where Muse and Mansun meet a Massive Attack with Duran Duran pop sensibilities, louder guitars, and a stunning female front person/guitar virtuoso”, or so we have been told.
I’d love to know what you’ve been up to since we disappeared into the dark damp studio cave, let us know how it’s going, I’m always up for a chat! Be good, and if you can’t be good, be lucky ;-) Dawn xx Scarlet/blonde
Hey Martin! Was really great to see you again last night both on stage and in person! Love your new track "The Invisible Invasion"; only you could write a song about robot-pigs & flying cars that well! :-) Hope to see you again sometime soon. All the best, Sara!
On that note, I hope you won't begrudge us a quick spam of the single...
Our second single 'Cream' is out now!
It's got "more hooks than a butcher's shop window", according to Artrocker, and Neon Buzz say it's "a ramshackle pop riot mixing elements of a million different musical genres into one four minute slice of party perfection."
Fully intending to be down tomorrow, but may not be able to stay all night, so if you have any idea which slot you're on that would be most useful! cheers

"...Throbbing brooding organic instrumental darkness and building drama – an amazing piece of shape shifting music and just when you think they can’t take you any higher the brilliant drama of the drums slowly kick in, brilliant brilliant brilliant!
This is an excellent debut album from the Manchester three piece, there’s personality here, an original take on instrumental post tock and yes, you do need this album in there with your post rock classics... ORGAN MAGAZINE..
