BIOG: The Steadfast Shepherd is husband and wife duo Nathan & Fairlie Collins.
Based around acoustic guitar, organ, and vocal harmonies, The Steadfast Shepherd’s songs draw on folk and country traditions to paint stories of times and places.
In 2008, The Steadfast Shepherd moved to Hobart, completed a 6-date tour of Japan, and performed in both Melbourne and in their new city. They also self-released their debut 5-song cd: ‘ The Open Sky’. This cd was well received with airplay on Melbourne’s 3RRR & PBSfm, Hobart’s Edge Radio, and Sydney’s 2SER.
A self-titled album was recorded in Melbourne at HeadGap Studios with Marcus Barzcak (Small Knives, the Smallgoods, Tamas Wells) and features orchestration including violins, cello, piano, flute and slide guitar, as well as members of Because of Ghosts on drums and bass guitar.
The album was launched as part of ‘Amplified’, a Tasmanian music showcase festival, in July 2009. That same week it was also selected as a feature album on Hobart’s Edge Radio.

I'm so sorry I missed your concert - had it in the calendar and everything. We were otherwise occupied with housewarming matters that evening. House is warm now. Hope it went well, and good luck with bub!
looks growse but am at a festival this weekend so must decline yr offer - pump out them good vibes whatever happens and remember - it's all about the chi !!!!!
best of luck. would love to see it but i am in berlin, which is like zone 10 for melbourne. the trams don't come this far and even if they did, they would be running late. cheers
yeah we're most likely not gonna play since we've found out that it more revolves around popularity rather than actual music and it feels like work selling tickets for someone elses pockets...
if you are in melb we can all be at the 303 next thursday being all savvy about the existence of deep deep underground military bases and possible underground railway systems that link the entire globe! howzat for a trip !>?!??!?!?!?
Hey guys! thanks for accepting the add, "the open sky" is a favourite! :) Will have to look into getting your music ever thinking of playing in Sydney some time?
