A night of Passion in a deep dark cave of resounding reverb...
The Steeds formed a couple of months prior to Little Stevens first nationwide Battle of the Garage Bands contest. Consisting of three former Creatures of the Golden Dawn and a drummer found in a Crop Circle outside Kutztown, PA, the band submitted a CD to the Little Steven contest and were quite surprised to be selected for the top 10 in the Philadelphia market. They didn't go on to the finals in that contest, but the experience was well worth it.
With a nod more to British Mod sounds, the Steeds honed their skills at gigs at nearby venues such as Alexander's in New Jerusalem, PA, The Funhouse in Bethlehem, PA, The Sterling Hotel in Allentown, PA and one awesome fun time playing live on the air for the 10th Anniversary celebration for WDIY Public Radio out of Bethlehem, PA.
Bass guitarist Chris Kender had to depart the band due to too many DBs (domestic bliss); Mike Smitreski, Steve Schlack and Shawn Roth have enlisted Shaun McNally as lead singer, poet, faith healer and muse and Josh Cusatis as bass player and saucer pilot to bring the band back together.

To all Steeds fans - Since the Cryptic Zen Master's passing we no longer have control of this myspace page. Sorry for any unanswered messages or comments. We are leaving the page intact as a tribute to Mike. Check it out and enjoy. Thanks, THE STEEDS
We look forward to next month's CD release show! It will be great, we will bring chips and soda, and Jon is going to sing a couple hymns and Jeff says he is making a cake and I will lead us in prayer. We must be finished by 8:30pm as it will be late and that's when the Devil gets people...if your not under the covers. Ron
