Influences
Musical influences are wide ranging and include Jim Webb, The Velvet Underground, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, The Church, The Triffids, Died Pretty, Johnny Cash, The Go-Betweens, Ed Kuepper, The Byrds, The Smiths, David Bowie, The Cowboy Junkies, Mazzy Star, Radiohead, Doves, etc
Tim and Owen began the project in 2004. They record sporadically and perform live from time to time. Tim is based in Ballarat but previously lived in Adelaide where he played in a series of original bands including Colourwheel. He still plays with Goldentone (originating in Adelaide) on rare occassions but mainly focuses on performing as a solo act. Owen is based in Canberra and also plays with The Plug Ins and Nosky.
It looks like 'The Dead of Winter Tour' will make it all the way to Canberra in August 2007. Hopefully 'The Stingers' can play one of their rare shows as part of the tour.
