The Stompers were founded in 1977 by East Boston native Sal Baglio. Together with mates Stephen Gilligan, Dave Friedman & Mark "Cooch" Cuccinello the band played bars, frat houses, beach shacks and toured with the Mighty J. Geils Band, The Beach Boys and many others.
Signed to Boardwalk Records in 1982. The single "Never Tell An Angel" made it's Billboard debut with a bullet. That same week Boardwalk Records filed Chapter 11.
1984: Mercury Polygram releases "The Stompers One Heart For Sale" Title song is also the single. In 1983, Lenny Shea replaced Cooch on drums.
The Stompers were produced by Ritchie Cordell, who wrote pop gems, "I Think We're Alone Now" & "Mony,Mony" and produced Joan Jett, Tommy James & the Shondells & The Ramones. Glen Kolotkin was co-producer and engineer. Glen's roster includes Jonathan Richmond, Greg Kihn, The Rubinoos.

Just stopping by to say Happy Anniversary! 31 years - it doesn't seem possible. From ratty bars, to booze cruises, from the Paradise to the Channel, from college campuses to Club Casino - didn't matter the location - great music and high energy, loose your voice kind of night happened. Thanks for all the great memories. BTW - so glad you went with The Stompers and not Bandit!
Special thoughts of Cooch today. I know he's probably kicking that beat and raising hell with my Stomper friends in heaven.
