Sounds Like
Vocal and guitar driven vintage rock with no boundaries.
The Stone Pages are a new band hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Drawing comparisons to the great rock bands of the 60’s and 70’s, the Stone Pages have tapped into countless influences of their favorite music to make a sound and style that is nothing but original. Bringing the sounds that made rock music so great in the past to a new generation of listeners is one of many attributes that make the Stone Pages who they are. They also strive for originality and experimentation, setting themselves apart from the current trends in the music scene. Using wide ranges of dynamics and tempos in their music, their live shows are a showcase of the vast array of styles in rock music.
Formed by guitarist Sasha Druva and former Mile One vocalist Patrick Schmid, the Stone Pages are a band that came together in a most unlikely way. The two originally met in Boulder, Colorado and played together for a short time as a local band at venues such as Tulagi’s and the Ogden. Shortly after inception, the band split up and Druva and Schmid went their separate ways, Schmid to Minneapolis and Druva back home to Melbourne, Australia. Coincidentally, a few years later because of family reasons, Druva ended up moving back to the states which brought him to none other then the Twin Citeis area where he would again meet up with Schmid and go on to create the Stone Pages. Along with bassist Keith Weisser and former Hazel Strange/Early Effect drummer Mark Larson, the Stone Pages are quickly making a name for themselves on both the local and national scenes.
“Appetite for Love” the first single off of their self-titled self-produced debut album, is a hard hitting song that captures the listener from the first note of Sasha Druva’s acoustic guitar to the last note from front man Patrick Schmid’s soaring vocals. Continuing to listen to this track, brings the listener on a ride reminiscing to the earlier days when rock songs were more then a three minute single, cookie cut for radio.
Recently, the Stone Pages have been seen playing venues around the Twin Cities area such as Fineline, Varsity Theater, and Trocaderos, in support of their latest album. They continue to play in and around the Mid-West gearing up for tours later this year.
