"You see the blues came from a way of life, an expression of survival.
I've been strugglin' with it all my life, tryin' to cross over without having fully lived it. Don't get me wrong, I've struggled and been through some hard times, but being born white and in the suburbs didn't help. Charlie Parker, the great sax player said it the best.
Another great music movie called "Bird" with Forest Whittaker. Anyway he said "If you don't live it, it ain't gonna come out of your horn."
That is so true man!! You can learn all the mechanics, all the notes and
scales but you can't learn soul. That's why it's so hard to capture the emotion. Listen to early Muddy or Howlin Wolf. Listen to what there sayin' and how they're sayin' it.
Man, it's hard to capture. What I'm sayin', is that it's so very hard for me and I've been playin' and listening to the blues all my life and I still can't tell it just the way I want to some times. So if you don't love it , you really don't have a shot at doin' it well.
So think about it. You can play those 3 chords or you can PLAY those 3 chords."

Hey SWBB, awesome stuff you got. I finally managed to finish all 15 demos so I could register the copyright. So now I'm posting what will become a big show in three acts. I'll keep you posted. I finally got some "real" work and will have to knuckle down to make some bucks, but once that's settled down in a few months, I'm going to hit the music hard. And I have a real drummer now who I didn't use for the demos. He's got the stuff, I feel blessed.
