The Stranger's Six are a rock band from San Diego California. They have played shows, done crappy tours, put out records, partied, and made decisions they always regret in the morning. Repeat. Just boys being boys.

I do believe that we have discovered the next breed of punk rock in America. Make sure you check out...
www.myspace.com/thestrangerssix these guys are going to re-invent rock music.
Is “A Date With Daylight” any good? Let me tell you something: this album rockets straight past ‘good’ and goes straight to ‘man-this-is-friggan-awesome’.
“A Date With Daylight” can be described as hard rock meets punk in a head on collision of ass kicking proportions. A heady brew of infectious riffs, killer hooks, and raw energy, the album is smooth as pop, and rough as rock with a definitive punk edge. Its like a brick wrapped in silk and thrown through a window: sophisticated and stylish, yet sinister and forceful. Frontman Aaron Thompson claims “We are the perfect blend of Sleaze and Class ". They’re also a flawless union of slick polished pop songwriting, dirty hard rock grit, and punk attitude. Just take a listen to the first track off the album, “Back To The Start”, which is one of the greatest songs I’ve ever been fortunate enough to hear. You’ll be hooked. Guaranteed.
Bottom Line: THE STRANGER’S SIX are poised to become the poster-boys for a new breed of modern punk-rock. I for one and jumping on the band-wagon right here and now.

The Stranger's Six is a perfect blend between sleazy rock 'n roll and punk rock. With songs that could easily be anthems for the current generation. With infectious grooves combined with the melodic yet often in your face vocals, the band's sophomore album, A Date With Daylight is a definite hit and will hopefully be embraced by the masses. In addition to this, this could easily be another hit for the fledgling Orange Peal Records, who saw success with The Transit War late last year.
What contributes to A Date With Daylight's catchiness would definitely have to be the guitar work. The two guitarists on this album work together to create choruses and verses that have almost dance rock style grooves. But The Stranger's Six is neither pure dance nor indie rock, instead blending traditional rock 'n roll style instrumentals in with a slight punk flare to it. Every track on this album has at least one memorable riff throughout it, and it helps the album to avoid repetition.
But to be successful, bands in the same genres as The Stranger's Six need a powerful front man to match up with the music. In this regard, singer Aaron Thompson certainly gets the job done. His voice is noticeably deeper than many "dance-rock" groups and fits in better with the traditional rock 'n roll world. Admittedly, Thompson seems to be somewhat limited to the lower range of pitch, but he manages to pull it off with style.
A Date With Daylight is a surprise hit from a band that most may not have discovered yet. But give them a chance, as listeners will quickly discover a group that knows how to blend sleaze with style, and create a sound that fans of many different sub-genres of rock will be able to appreciate. If their debut album is this good, who knows what The Stranger's Six are capable of producing in the future.

Musically, the album is solid and exciting. Thompson’s vocals envelope each track, smoothing off what are barely rough edges, tying the album together. Think Armor For Sleep in terms of music, and Alkaline Trio, vocal.
Break-up, melancholy, anger and the occasional semi-spiteful “I’m Bouncing Back” is the dominant song on this long-play. If there was a stand-out hit, it would have to be “Chopping Block.” That said, this is the type album that is so solidly ‘what it is’, it could be all hits to the right fan. Definitely worth checking out.

The songs on A Date With Daylight and a downfall may start out with the basic structure of every other punk band but the group isn’t content to rest on the laurels of a popular sound. “Back To The Start” for example kicks off with a sleazy rock and roll guitar line before tripping into a ethereally haunting verse and then back to sleazy guitar groove and pop punk vocal chorus. Elsewhere on “Love Letter” the band wonders down the path of dancey pop with a punk twist and full of everything The Strangers Six is about. (Seriously, if this song gets radio play, prepare to see millions of homemade music videos using anime clips for this song pop up overnight.) These patterns are scattered all over the record. Dance beats, pop blasts and sloppy good fashioned punk lines keep the bands already impressive songwriting fresh from start to finish.
Delving further into this album you can find some top tracks including “No Time For Queens” and “One Step Closer” – which are both shining examples of a typical The Strangers Six songs. They don’t try to do anything too complicated or different, but it’s fast and infectious and never out stay their welcome. “Ready To Fall” also includes a number of slightly quicker speeds and transitions which show bands how keeping fans on their feet should be done. Vocally the band have a rougher edge but the melodies sung more than make up for that and I promise you that you’ll find something to hum along to by the end of this record.
I still can’t bring myself to call myself a fan of pop-punk quite yet, but if every band in the genre spent this much time crafting killer songs instead of picking out killer boots I’m pretty sure I would. The Strangers Six has released a tuneful explosion of classy music and killer grunge like pop-punk that all but the most jaded of punk fans can find something to love about.

Catchy as hell and still 100% rock and roll, as heavy on attitude as they are on riffing, the San Diego Natives make songs that were meant to be yelled along with loudly, drunkenly, and more than a little off key! Go buy their new album, it kills pretty hard. - Campus Circle Magazine
The Strangers Six retain a highbrow maturity and raise the bar in a ubiquitously present Indie scene that spawns too many bands with too few discernible qualities.
Though the bulk of the 'Six's musicality is derived largely from their moody tones, the band's appeal is found in their honesty and genre-less song writing, which in turn makes The Strangers Six a universally appealing outfit. I dont doubt the band are on their way to a great number of successes. The Strangers Six have already made me a believer, and have made their music a staple of any music collection you can count on. - SDMUSICMATTERS MAGAZINE
I first heard The Strangers Six when I was floating around in the Purevolume forums and noticed that they would send a free demo to anyone who wanted one. So I gave them my address and hoped for the best. It was one of the best decisions I ever made!
Yes, we’ve found another band that still thinks that the singer should sing. I know, it’s a dying concept. Let’s hope that the idea doesn’t completly die out.
There are some major label bands that don’t have their stuff sound half as good as that (cd) did. I’m really excited that the rest of the world is starting to pick up on something that I knew a long time ago: these guys are really good.
Go pick up a copy of A Date Without Daylight. You won’t be disapointed, I promise.
