bringing you the new york sound from the sunny shores of california, the strawberries are probably the most derivative band ever in that strawberries have been on the earth for at least a couple years.
born on the campus of the university of california san diego (or UCSD as the cool cats say), the strawberries consists of just one person. it would be more politically correct to have called the band the strawberry, but that sounds pretty lame, kind of like how britney spears sounds so much better than britney spear.
the band's only member, arthur lee, is not a guitarist, and has not prior musical instuction or training. but he tries, and that's pretty much the most important thing. besides skill. but one out of two isn't that bad. unless we're talking about testicles.
the most obvious influence to the band is the strokes, and you'll see that a lot of the strawberries sounds like it could have been the aborted song fetuses of would-be strokes songs. But they're not because that's called copyright infringement. plus it's pretty gross to steal dead baby fetuses anyways.
