Stringfield Old Time Stringband, Hammer Dulcimer, Fiddle, Guitar, Bass in Springfield MO
Stringfield is a truly unique band and comes in many variations. Gail and Victoria form a hammered dulcimer duet; their repertoire includes; old time, celtic, contemporary, christmas and original. They have played at festivals, local events, weddings and have traveled to Japan to perform. They also perform as a member of the full band with Barry Smith on guitar, Jeremy Meyers on fiddle and Dennis McBride on bass. Victoria also plays guitar, mandolin and trying to learn the fiddle.
Victoria Johnson has won 1st place at the Oklahoma State Hammered Dulcimer contest and also the 2002 Southwest Regionals, Mt. View Arkansas. Gail Morrissey has also won 1st place in the 2006 Southwest Regional Hammered Dulcimer contest and finished in the top 5 at the National Contest at Winfield Kansas.
