The Sugarplastic have WON "Best Pop/Rock Band" as chosen by the LA Weekly for 2005.
Starting on the periphery of the dream pop scene in early 90s Los Angeles, The Sugarplastic had their first breakthrough during a signing binge at DGC (Geffen) Records. Bang, The Earth is Round was released to critical praise in 1996 and despite constant fluctuations in the music business, The Sugarplastic maintain a solid and rabid fan base to this day, and continue to play out and record.
In 2001, William Cooper Glenn passed away. A founding member of Rain Parade as well as a key player in Mazzy Star and Opal, his passing deeply affected the music community in Los Angeles. This album Will is inspired by his inventive arranging and producing techniques, as well as his outlook on the world.
The Sugarplastic have been waiting for you. They never went away, they were just hiding in a corner of your psyche, waiting to make a grand
re-entrance. Will is their first full length since Resin in 2000.

hi, The Sugarplastic! love your quirky and sophisticated pop songs! it's really one of a kind! hope all's well with you... greetings from Brazil Carlos Nishimiya from Surfadelica
I NEED 'Bang, The Earth is Round' It was staple and the first time I did mushrooms i was listening to it. Such a fantastic album. How do I get it again?
what's goin' on, boys? we must be careful not to breathe too much august air here in los angeles. just get a big clean lungful from somewhere else and hold it for a few months. this precaution will safeguard your tender lungs' airsacs from malevolent microparticles, hopefully. just a friendly safety tip from artichoke. rock on, timothy
Ben, this is Jeff! Your acquaintance from La Mirada, home of BIOLA--home of Earth's TRUE infidels.
"My Heart Lately" and the song before it on Will touch my soul. In a past life, perhaps, we were soul-sistas.
Some music I've been apart of, separate of Hong Kong Six, is on the myspace I'm sending this comment from. Check it out. I hope you like it! (Note: the only song not shamefully Sugarplastic in some way is "LoLo").
We are still Drunk

Dear Sugarplastic: I am a never-seen-you-live-but-almost-did-in-LA-maybe-10-years-ago fan. I own and listen to "BANG!..." Thanks for the lovely eclecti-cohesion, and thanks for the, y'know, add. Now I can keep up with the current.
Hi there! I just noticed the post for the friday night residency this May here at Spaceland. It's a funny thing: I will be starting my cross country drive to brooklyn three days before your first show. Did I mention I will be gone forever? You total bastards. This is not fair. I am crushed and speechless. Hey, here's an idea: Next time you plan a residency at a venue that happens to be in walking distance from my soulless apartment here in glendale why don't you use your psychic powers and channel the 'Sean Month-At-A-Glance Calendar' energy wave a few weeks in advance. It might just save you from losing your greatest fan on the next plain, you bitches...
But I Jest... I'm going to miss you. It says so on the first and only 'blog' I have ever posted on this myspace crap. Y'all better head out to nyc soon with rig in tow if you know what's good for you.
Holy Fucking Moses. But Seriously: Love and Peace and I'll always remember the first time I heard 'ways to save face' on kxlu and 'transworld modal operator' on mister rodney's show...you will be greatly missed. please keep in touch and for the love of God let me know when you come my way. you bastards.
all the love,
sean a.

Great songs, but I'm sure you've been told that many times before. It's all true! If you go on tour, try to play Connecticut. It's a pit ... (ask Jon Brion about it) but try to play here for all us folks who like Sugarplastic!
