The Summary is four highly driven touring artists on a mission to spread their vision of music to the masses. Its focus is to satisfy any live setting; from large clubs to small bars while maintaining a focus on dynamics and musicality. The Summary resembles styles of Blues, Nu-Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, Soul, Latin, Progressive Fusion, Reggae Rock and Pop Rock.
The Summary started out as a vision by longtime friends Eric Washington and Steven Seese. That friendship began during “The Berklee Sessions”, which was a four-track drum-and-bass composition; the recipient of a $64,000 “Writing and Composition Scholarship” awarded by THE Berklee College of Music. Eric and Steve went their separate ways for some time; only later to have music re-unite their bond. Shortly after they reunited it was decided they would revisit the same vision they shared initially; to create music that connects people in a satisfied musical feeling. After establishing the foundation they sought out additional musicians.
Mark Glass, a self-taught singer/guitarist/songwriter was an instant fit. His soulful voice with his atypical yet, melodic guitar playing was perfect for the overall Summary sound.
At this time The Summary put forth all effort in writing music. As the process evolved, Danny Kaufman, a childhood friend of Eric accidentally crossed paths with him at a show. Danny, a keyboardist extraordinaire displayed interest in becoming a member. After a couple practices with Danny the line-up of the band was finalized and The Summary was formed.
