Committed to writing hooky and insightful indie rock for local consumption, we write radio songs for people who don’t listen to the radio. Our plans don’t include rock stardom, world domination, or anything so grand. See, we’ve got day jobs. And we’ve got night lives. And we’re not about to leave it all behind to grind it out on the road. That might make us lazy, or uncommitted, but it also makes us lucky. We’re able to write songs on our schedule and on our terms, and we couldn’t really ask anything more.
We’re a group of old friends who cut our teeth playing in unknown local bands for the past decade and we’re ready to share what we learned. Our brand of post-punk revival mixes intimate songwriting (see the National and the Hold Steady) and accessibility (Death Cab and Maritime) with a bit of dancey-dance thrown in for good measure (see Bloc Party and the Strokes). We’ve been described as an intense cross of Elvis Costello and the Killers – and have been likened to what would happen if Band of Horses spent a weekend with the Faint. Throw those 10 acts in a blender and you’ve got The Susan Constant.
