   About The Swayback Sisters
The Swayback Sisters are Laura Blackley, Nikki Talley & Lyndsay Wojcik. Hailing individually from Asheville, North Carolina, these "sisters" decided to join forces & create a diverse musical experience for themselves as well as their audiences. While each Sister is proficient in her songwriting & crafty guitar work, the real treat is the blending of their voices in three-part harmony. Performing mostly their own originals, this trio also has select older standards and re-vamped covers in their repertoire. (Accapella versions of old Appalachian folks songs side by side with popular hits done the Swayback way!) As well as guitar, they accompany their beautiful voices with other instruments including banjo and fiddle. The Swayback Sisters have brought a truly unique, diverse, entertaining show to each venue played & continually are asked “When is the NEXT Swayback Sister Show?”
Laura Blackey- Straight from the Swayback’s mouth “You can’t get nothing out of your art if it don’t sting you a little bit in the process. That’s my philosophy on writing songs. I’ve been writing songs and stories since I was 5 years old. I’ve been doing it as a job for the past 15 years. I specialize in love and murder ballads, ghost stories, and done-somebody-wrong songs. I love the blues, rock and roll, and country music, and you can tell it when you listen to my records.” This song-storian has toured extensively in the southeast supporting her 3 self-released albums. While she’s not playing gigs or harvesting honey, she is hosting her show: Southern Sirens on 88.7’s WNCW.
Nikki Talley- Hold on for the ride! In seconds, she can go from a soulful banjo ballad to in-yer-face rock n roll!!! Tho guitar slingin & banjo pickin skills shine, it's her powerful and beautiful voice that can start ethereal and angelic then end up sending you through a fire storm in hell w/ chills. She was awarded the prize of Carolina Star (NC’s version of American Idol where she beat out 300+ contestants for a 10,000$ prize!) With the contest earnings she released ‘To Be A Bird’ which was well received and earned a 27 spot on WNCW’s prestigious Top Releases of 2008. Mesmorizing audiences with her energetic stage performance, her powerful voice & strongly emotional, often seductive lyrics, Nikki's songs are very unique and each one gives us different look inside the artist... each is a part of her.
Lyndsay Wojcik- Combining a musical mixture of roots, folk, and soul, Lyndsay Wojcik brings a refreshing twist to the often mundane and repetitive styles of the present music industry. Using her savvy lyrical sense, she paints her interpretation of life onto her audience as if they were the wet canvas on which she worked. She has won several competitions such as the Gibson Songwriters contest in Nashville, placed second in the NSAI songwriter competition in Charlotte, placed second in a competition in Knoxville, and has appeared on the CMT television show "The Big Break" with Sara Evans. Now with a her new CD " Local Honey" , Lyndsay is hitting the road solo, as well as with the Swaybacks, and taking her songs with her.
