ps - ali's two cents: many of the people on the above list are musicians that i think are mediocre at best. hernan and i don't get along.
pps - ali's young. please forgive her - hernan
ppps - hernan's right. old dogs can't learn new tricks, right?
ali and i met in the summer of 2006 at her monthly songwriters’ circle, a group of friends who lovingly endured my first attempts at "songwriting". as time passed and my hands stopped shaking a bit, ali suggested that we record some of my songs. so in dec 07, we locked ourselves up in my house one weekend and recorded these songs. i wanted it to be a creative process, so i asked ali to add something on the spot for each song. from her first harmonies on ’most days’ i was hooked. "she was singing all my songs just the way i want to hear ’em" and so she became producer-turned-vocalist/harp/guitar etc. a few weeks later, i went on a trip to cuba and returned with a bunch of revolutionary army hats. that was new year’s eve and apparently i ended up going around drunkenly hugging everyone, passing out hats and asking them to "join my sweetheart army". hope you enjoy the songs. -hernan
