Formed in San Francisco in the Spring of 2006, The Sweet Revenge draw upon experience ranging from mundane to monumental, they pour their aggression, energy and overall discontent with life in general into one cathartic punk/powerpop release after another. Every hook, harmony, chorus and breakdown forms a powerful reaction to social and personal frustrations and the righteous determination to strike back. If you can't connect with their sound or message you obviously haven't been paying attention.
They recorded an E.P. in 2007 entitled "Sleeping Cities". It was recorded analog on a 1" reel by Bart Thurber(Fury 66, U.K. Subs, Swingin' Utters), mixed by Alex Newport(Sepultura, At The Drive-In, Dead To Me), and mastered by John Greenham(Two Gallants, Queensrÿche, Brazil).
"Sleeping Cities" was released as an enhanced CD which included a music video for the song "Washed Out" which was directed by Dan Fraga(Storyboard artist/Production Designer for Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Fall Out Boy, and movies such as The Transporter 2, ATL, and the Fantastic Four and Hulk sequels).
This album created buzz for the band and took them to the next level. With over 1000 cds sold, they toured the west coast diligently playing in bars and houses in towns all throughout California and around including Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington etc.
In 2008 it was time to take a break and begin the arduous process of creating new songs that pushed their boundaries. After almost an entire year they finally were able to go into the studio to record a 3 song demo to help them choose the right engineer/producer to work with on their first full length album. In steps Joe Clements(ex-Fury 66) from The Compound Recordings studio. All the members immediately connected with him and it was decided that this was the place to begin the brutal task of laying down 10 songs good enough to make the record.
Fast forward to late 2009, with Joe's help behind the board, TSR finally completed their record. They go back to the familiar faces of Alex Newport and John Greenham for mixing and mastering. "This record is our blood, sweat and tears from the past year and a half." Erick says. "We couldn't be more proud of the hard work we put into this thing. It's been a lot of time and money but it's finally done and we can't wait to release it and get back on the road." reveals Clint.
With their new album entitled "Creatures Of Routine" slated to be released in winter of 2009, it's time to pack up all their gear, squeeze into the van they so lovingly call "The Beast", and get back out on the road where they belong.
The Sweet Revenge is receiving consistent airplay on the major top 40's station KRKC 102.1 in the greater South Monterey County including Salinas, Santa Cruz, Monterey, and King City as well as college radio station KZSU 90.1.
