    The Swifts is an indie rock based in Valencia, Spain. The band comprises singer and bassist Fredy Hove (Dk, 1991) and Javier Navarro (Sp. 1992) on guitar and backing vocals. They were later joined by drummer Álvaro Odeh (Sp, 1992) and lead guitarist Linden Nieto (Ge, 1996). They gained local attention by releasing singles on digital platforms throughout early 2012, which they would collect in their 2012 self-titled EP. Formation. After several years living in the US (Gainesville, FL; Madison, WI, San Francisco, CA), Navarro returned to hometown Valencia, where he'd attend ASV school. In an atmosphere where house and electronic music enjoyed it's peak in Spain, Hove and Navarro found refuge in bands such as TV on the Radio, Girls or The Beatles, thus creating a strong between them and developing similar taste in music. The early meetings turned out to be productive writing sessions. Encouraged by Odeh's ambitious nature, they founded Kolision (2006). After a few live shows in the local area and due to musical differences, Navarro left the band. However, in 2010, Hove and Navarro, influenced by English teacher Scott Devore (who went on to become Emma Get Wild's bassist), decided to pick up the project where they left off. They chose the band name after the author of a "Modest Proposal", Jonathan Swift. The book had been assigned reading in English class earlier that year. Despite limited recording equipment, the new musical project managed to produce a few songs in Navarro's attic. In spite of the positive feel of the project, the band took a 6-month break coinciding with Hove's departure to study musical production for a year in Oure, Dk. After his return and catching Odeh's attention, and therefore reuniting the initial Kolision line-up, The Swifts started recording new versions of the songs at the drummer's place. Sporadically releasing homemade videos for the songs, the band was able to increase their local fan base and catch the attention of indie festival Arenal Sound. The band added Linden Nieto to its line-up in early 2012.
