Sounds Like
Vangelis meets Yello at Jarres place while Mark Shreeve gets the beers in, and who says it sounds like the Pet Shop Boys ???
Greetings - I'm Richard from Southsea, UK, a musician during my spare time when the TV is a little dull and when there is no wine or beer left in the rack................
I first tinkered on a synthesiser in 1983. Inspired by Jean Michel Jarre and the electro pop of Depeche Mode, Howard Jones, Bronski Beat and Kraftwerk, I went on to buy my first synth in 1986; a CZ101.
-
In 1984, I got heavily into Jarre, Tangerine Dream and Schulze (while also discovering Black Sabbath and Rainbow) and by 1985 discovered the UK synth scene with the likes of Ron Berry, Mark Shreeve, Ian Boddy and Wavestar.

However, by the 1990's trance and dance were really buzzing with fresh ideas and energy like The Shamen and Prodigy and Radio 1's Danny Ramplin's Euromix on a Saturday night really accelerating my interest. With my trusted, mostly second hand gear like a Juno60, MC202, Monopoly along with the ever impressive CZ101, I started to produce music and sounds I was really pleased with. Firstly, sounding like my heros Jarre and TD and then Shreeve and The Shamen and Enigma.

... I wrote my first album on a 4 track in 1987. But my first proper CD, Millennium Dawn was completed in 1996 with the help and encouragment by some mates Mark Durham and Martin Hayter, it was very trance meets old skool electronic music.
-
I have since composed music that has been played on Radio Victory in Portsmouth and on a CDROM for Gosport's Submarine museum and later at a LAB4 concert night with Mike Knight in 2003 ....I even composed the music for my sisters wedding. (it wasnt trance it was more like Mike Oldfield, stuff I really like to this day).

If I could play the guitar I would be doing some METAL and THRASH as well.
- Enjoy !
Just been reading Richard Ballans comments, so sorry for butting in on a conversation albeit a couple of months old now. I was interested in which software you decided to choose for recording with - if you have made that choice yet! Hope things are going well musically.
I have been mainly using CUBASE SX FOR recording and mainly using my Yamaha SY85 on board workstation sequencer as it is easy to use. Yes i have 2 young daughters too and getting the time to do more music can be limited. I have loads of tracks that i have had for years i want to finish this year. I also have a Korg Radias and a Roland D-50. I have and EDIROL UA-25 converter for the pc. I like your tracks reminds me a little of Tangerine dream. Did you go to the electronic music festivals in the mid 90's in Derby they were fantastic shame they have finished. I have a site on youtube my user name is CHESEABUN. I still can't sus out how to get my music on my space...
