For thousands of years the table has been the centerpiece of community. When we gather around a table to share a meal or drink a frap, something in our souls signals to our minds that this is right. As we listen and share our lives with others we find that connection God has created in all of us. We were created to exist in rich meaningful relationships with others.

Many people ask where this whole idea of The Table came from. It came from this ancient concept and tradition that has lasted generation after generation of sharing a meal around a table where people share their dreams, hopes, fears, and activities of the day. This has changed the last few years in our society dramatically. The busyness of life and disconnection with people has created life on the run without meaningful relationships.

Our hope at The Table is for life to happen. Where we slow down long enough to get to know each other, trust each other, lean on each other, and grow in our faith together.
A tradition that we share every Sunday evening after The Table has been to share a meal together in a local restaurant around a table. Recently we started a new monthly tradition of sharing a meal together in Fellowship Hall where we gather. You are invited to join us as we share a meal together, and offer the opportunity to invite a friend who needs a place like The Table where true community exists around a table.
Our purpose:
The early church met together in the book of Acts for a common purpose. To break bread together, to pray, for fellowship, and to learn about God. (Acts 2:42) They looked to each other's needs as they gathered in fellowship. One image that stands out from this picture of the church is that of a table. Early believers shared their worship, their needs and their meals around a table as they broke bread together.
The young adult ministry team at Chapelwood wants to create an environment where all who come can find their place around the table, and especially where they can hear about the love of Jesus, about God's grace, and about the place already prepared for them in their Father's house.
From this beautiful picture of the 1st century church in Acts comes the practices of The Table: Worship, Community, Growth, and Outreach.

Good job on the burgers Jared.
Loved being a kid and playin' kickball. It's also fun to win. Team 2 won 14-10. Our women can kick the ball AND run the bases. Nicola, and Rachel scored a ton for us, of course my beautiful bride-to-be played wonderfully. Greg was a great pitcher, we just had it going on!
kyle did a great job on left field, even if he was on the opposite team.
Nate gave us a run for our money too.
it was good fellowship too.
nice to meet a couple of new folks.
A lot of people even brought their dogs, so the dogs got to 'make friends' too.
The weather was great, it was just a great time to enjoy the spring weather. Thanks to all the folks that helped in planning and putting it together.
