Formed in the Summer of 2000, The Takedowns are considered to be one of the original "Punk Rock 'n' Roll" bands to hail from the S.G.V.
Manifesting in the shadow of what was once called P. Hill, The Takedowns held court at the infamous Joe's Garage and tirelessly cranked out beer-fueled rehearsal sessions. The Takedowns formulated a volatile musical cocktail while combining a bit of rock 'n' roll swagger, a touch of blues, and punk rock attitude..
From sharing the stage with likes of Tiger Army & The Nekromantix to hitting the rockin' seedy dives with bands like The Nots, The Guilty Hearts, and The Cop-Outs, The Takedowns were a band that encompassed the very meaning of everywhere and anywhere.
Preaching the rock 'n' roll sermon anywhere that would have them and to anyone that would listen, The Takedowns created the sound they called "Bridge City Rock."
