THE TAMBORINES are a fuzz rock band raised on a diet of underground indie, Bergman movies and distorted guitars, which came to being when core members Lulu Grave and Henrique Laurindo started recording some songs on a 4 track in their own bedroom in West London.
Their live shows have been described as a scalding blast of sculptured noise that best resembles the sweet kiss-punch of the Velvet Underground. The band is currently recording their debut album which follows from critically acclaimed Sally O’Gannon/Be Around” released on Sonic Cathedral and 31st Floor/Come Together on the bands own imprint Beat-Mo records.
“There is an alarming beauty to The Tamborines. A beauty that I really can’t put my finger on, but probably lies in the simple way The Tamborines musically glow, and then disarm you with their obvious greed for pop ambition.”

“Buzzing, fuzzing, squealing, squalling. (...) darkly Reid-esque vocals, cute wee minimalist bleeps on the keyboards, viciously fuzzed up guitar, a creepingly infectious tune.”
Kitten Painting
“Sounds like the Byrds on very bad acid. Amazing.”
NME
"You see, what The Tamborines have mastered here could be summed up as the art of simple arithmetic; White Noise + Immobile Drone x Pop Sensibility = The Most Exciting Tune since heroin was considered _so_ passe"
Drowned In Sound
“This is darkness the way Caravaggio paints it, not a lack of light but almost vibrant with the intensity of the pigment. This is the marker by which all shoegaze will be judged.”
