Scruff Cardinale - (vocals and guitar), J. Orellana - (bass and vocals), Steph Z. - (drums and cool parents with a garage. *all our parents rule, but J.'s live in Florida and Scruff's don't have a garage), Michael Ambrose - (founder, inspiration and always considered an integral part of the group despite spotty attendance)

Neye Benziyor?
Scruff discovering open chords after years of playing nothing but double barre chord punk and singing instead of just yelling and growling.
The Tea & Whiskey was first conceived by Michael Ambrose sometime in early 2008 as a means of performing/recording songs he'd written that while excellent didn't work with the many ska groups he had been associated with over the years. His friend Scruff Cardinale despite already being busy with his local punk/hardcore trio, Kohuff, was eager to be a part of the project as he had always respected Ambrose's writing and playing as well as just thinking highly of Ambrose as a person. After about a year of playing and even touring without a permanent bassist and complications stemming from their drummer's carpal tunnel syndrome Kohuff went on indefinite hiatus making this project Scruff's new top priority. A couple of short lived rythym sections came and went typically lasting three practices tops. Somewhere during this period Ambrose came up with the name The Tea & Whiskey. Scruff and Ambrose practiced weekly honing a full set's worth of originals finding common ground on influences such as Polaris and Ted Leo & The Pharmacists. After months of searching they finally found a bassist and drummer willing to commit to the project in J. Orellana and Steph Z.. Scruff knew J. since the late 90's and knew and was friends/schoolmates with Steph's older brother Mike Z. for about as long. Sometime during the late summer of 2008 Ambrose began to start having to cancel practices and stopped answering his phone and e-mail regularly which while disheartening to the rest of the group couldn't fully deter them from playing as so much effort had already been put in. The band decided to carry on as a three piece, and should Ambrose ever resurface he will be welcome to lead the group he started again. In the meantime the remaining three quarters will work on building as best a name and following as they can without the awesome organ swells and vivid tales of loss, hard luck and nostalgia. Mind you many of these topics are still covered just not quite as evocatively.
