The teachers came to light on the night of 26th of October 2002, when they did their first concert in a disused dairy renovated as a club.
The original line-up was made by Michael Cooper (vocals), Niccolò Bossini (guitars), Marco Massarenti (bass) and Luca Gandolfi (drums).
In 2003 they produced their very first demo, containing among others Cream of Bolivia, Exra large and I want to be your slave. Regarding live gigs 2003 was a very full year and the most important concert was as opening act for Marlene Kuntz, on the 3rd of July in Sorbolo.
2004 didn’t get off to a good start, when Mike left the band. Nico took over the singing. After a few months Alessandro Corradi (guitar) joined the band.
In 2004 another recording came into being, a self produced EP called EPonimous, but that year was the beginning of the London concerts.
The Teachers were in fact invited to play in London by a popular english webzine (Glasswerk.co.uk). The first time was in March, the second in Novembre for three gigs.
They played at the Upstairs @ the garage, Turnmills and Purple turtle and the reaction of the brit audience was always terrific.
2005 was a transitional year, the boys played a hypothetical last gig at the Kanaka in Reggio Emilia on the 27th of December 2004, leaving the scene for a while.
In the meantime Nico was called to join the band of the biggest italian rock star, Luciano Ligabue and The Teachers’ projects stood still until the autumn of 2005, when the band entered the studio again to record many new songs that would appear on their first record.
In 2007 their live work began again intensively when they opened the only italian date of the Fratellis tour at Rolling Stone, Milan, and one of the dates of Deep Purple world tour in Parma.
They also played in numerous important venues in Italy among which the Hiroshima mon amour in Turin and Tunnel in Reggio Emilia.
On the 7th of December 2007 their first record, “Greatest hits”, is out.
