we are influenced by both the never-ending beauty and sadness of life on this earth as we know it...and the constant effort it takes to keep the latter from smothering the former...as long as we have art, the beauty has a fighting chance, as least for a few more decades, we hope....

Hey Ryan, I thought I'd inform you that I put "Vampyres" on a mix cd for my 11 year old sister Kieran (from Cornflake Manor Man) and she said it is one of her favorite songs (perhaps enhanced by her current fascination with the "Twilight" book series). She can sing all the lyrics from memory better than I can, and she finds a reason to each time I see her! xo -Joe
Thanks very much for the kinds words... really like your songs as well. I found 'Black Friday' particularly memorable and of course the FF cover is badass!
Hey Ryan, I had an odd TT$T dream last night: You were playing here in Minneapolis at a theater with a six piece band, one of the members being Nastassja Kinski. I had to settle down some obstreperous children who continued to run onto the stage. Afterwards you had a small offering of music to sell, but a huge supply of TT$T pencils, bronze keychains, party favors, ect. You looked like a disaffected truck driver and when I spoke to you you were cold and pretentious. I left wondering how such a seemingly winsome, kind bloke could have such an unexpectedly adverse presence (especially someone who sells party favors at their shows). Hello, waking life. -Joe
