The Throb is a 4 piece band from the Midlands. They use Black Dog productions to rehearse and record.
The band was founded in a back room of a music class. Bennett and Stooge where the first members, but the band was nothing until they gained there next member, Gus. The trio jammed together for a few months and could barely play there instruments. It was not until late 2004, early 2005, when they recieved there new member, Tom, that the band started going somewhere. From then on the band has been going nowhere but up.
In april 2006 the Throb gained a new member called tommy who was the singer he was good and full of it and perfomed on may 1st in a heat of a birmingham based battle of the bands. after a great show and a successful first round tommy went missing unable to get in touch wid the newly found singer they had to think the worst he probably ended up at the bottom of the bordsley green cannal. undetered the band went on with the rythm guitarist lacey singing to make it through 2 more rounds and acheived the finnal but after slandering the other bands and ripping off another bands song the throb were too hot to handle and were not allowed to win the finnal. currently the throb are constantly giging trying to break into the birmingham pub scene with original material in the set and a great new live act. .
The Throb
The third band of the evening was Birmingham based four-piece The Throb. Very much from the Classic school of Rock n Roll, it’s not the most original of noises but they have written some particularly strong tracks within their genre to ensure they standout as innovators rather than imitators. Jon makes an excellent frontman, he’s got a strong stage presence and a raw, powerful vocal that really works with their sound and brings it some much needed definition. On the night it was a tight, impressive performance from a band with some strong ideas and the ability to execute them well.
