Hey there!! We hope you are smiling because we like smiley people.
We are The Throwdowns (as it says on many parts of our myspace page) we are a five piece all girl band. We have a tendency to play random styles, a mix of jazz/ funk/ blues/ reggae/ rock and possibly a bit of folk. Basically our main aim is to make you dance.
We are at the moment having great fun gigging around the Glastonbury area. We aren't a serious band we just love going out and making citizens boogie.
Hugs and cheesy grins from x x The Throwdowns x x
REVIEWS......................................................................................................................First band up was our travelling band THE THROWDOWNS. They became the 'travelling band' because they had brought a decent fan base to two previous local gigs. So this time they weren't expected to bring anyone at all. After all they had travelled nearly 20 miles to play. So we were very pleasantly surprised when they brought enough people to be the 3rd best-supported bands of the night. So listen up all you bands that tell us you can't get people to come because you live 3 miles from the venue!!! The bottom line is, when you are as good as THE THROWDOWNS you can get a fan base to go anywhere! So our opening set was 20 minutes of fine quality Indie rock that was good from the first bar to the last. Lynsey has an amazing voice (Think I've said that before once or twice) and with Steph adding intense harmonies the sound has grown in stature and maturity. They are a very professional band and their set was polished and timed to perfection. The perfect start to the evening. Dale of Justice Promotions

Castle Cary's band THE THROWDOWNS were next. This 5 piece all girl band have been impressing us for some time now (check out the last Cheeser review) They were relaxed and prepared for the rushed change over and minimalist sound checks that we always have. Also the whole 'no monitors' situation that is normal for us at the moment. They performed a set that was fully charged. They had the audience eating out of their hands and (despite the problems with mics cutting out) they carried on and wowed the audience with some amazing covers. They also played their own material which I feel was the best part of the whole set. After checking with the crew I was delighted at the end of the set to offer them Headline Band status. They deserve it and when you see them at a gig near you, you will understand why

Hi. Thanks for the comment! Sorry for the late reply, I haven't checked my space in ages! I'm based up North in Leeds. Fancy sorting out a gig swap sometime?
