The Thursdays are an alternative 4 piece rock band, formed in late January 2007; Russell Herbert (vocals and rhythm guitar), Shaun Swarbrick (bass guitar), Siella Lygo (drums and percussion) and Neil Braine on lead guitar.
All work is original material which is full of energy and passion that is evident when you see them perform live. There is a positive and exciting stage presence that is both fun, energetic and a refreshing change from the norm.
Past gigs have included; The International Maritime Festival on the CFM stage, a weekend which saw 28,000 people desend into the town for a weekend of live music and activities, Bfest in Eskdale, Ivory Blacks in Glasgow, Dry Bar, Manchester for V man promotions and The Brickyard, Carlisle to name but a few. The Thursdays have always been asked back for another performance wherever they play!
Future gigs and festivals include; Academy 3, Manchester, The Central Fest, Egremont, The Iron Ore Biker Rally and Furness Fest, Barrow.
In addition The Thursdays are also being played weekly on the Phil Orange show on www.rivergibbsfm.com
Goals for the future are to follow their own, original path, without the need to follow current trends.
A band not to be pigeon holed, as they keep producing song after song, that leads from a rock foundation, but dives into a new and exciting sound that is The Thursdays.
All band members have very different styles and influences, which include many forms of rock, funk, soul, and acoustic, and when joined together, let out a sound that is not easy to forget. You will find yourself humming the tunes for days to come when you hear them live!
The future is looking very bright indeed for this amazing, new and talented band which are The Thursdays.
Kaikoura have (by far) the freshest, most dynamic and vibrant sound on the scene right now, you'd be hard-pressed to find any other current band who epitomise the fury of intense live energy that Kaikoura achieve.
Tripdash waste no time laying out blistering, hooky hardcore punk anthems, each one sure to inspire pumping fists and mosh pits, and hell - maybe even a sing along or two. Unapologetically political, Tripdash is sure to please fans of the melodic hardcore punk genre.
