THE TIDES are a band from switzerland. We play punk, grunge and some strange indie music. The on this site accessable songs have a rough quality because they are all demos. Sommer 2003: Wir sassen auf der Quaderwiese in Chur und rauchten Zigaretten. Die Schule war endlich geschmissen und wir diskutierten wie wohl unsere Zukunft aussehen würde. Der Gründungstag der Band THE TIDES.
Durch Mircos Aufenthalt in England wurde das Projekt allerdings erstmal in der Hintergrund gerückt. Während diesem Jahr rutschte Mirco immer tiefer in die britische Musikszene, spielte Gigs mit der Indie Punk Band called ‚The Fred Five’ und nahm mit ihnen Singles auf.
In der Zwischenzeit taten sich Lukas und Drummer Gianni zusammen und hielten THE TIDES am leben. Und sobald Mirco zurück war gings richtig los. Es wurden Songs mit deutlich britischem Einfluss eingespielt. Allerdings hatte man damit einen schweren Stand im schönen Bündnerland.
Einzige Unterstützung fand man hier bei Manu Bosch, seiner Band und Appa Zappa.
Als sich uns dann noch Chrigi anschloss konnten wir genug Material für eine CD einspielen. Im Moment fehlt uns dazu leider noch ein Label.
THE TIDES EP wurde bei mir im Zimmer mit einem 4spurigen Aufnahmegerät gemacht! Die Qualität der Aufnahmen lässt zu wünschen überig. Ich hoffe ihr seht trotzdem das Potenzial von THE TIDES.
