The Tijuana Gigolos started playing together in 2001. The brain child of Marty Steinhausen lead guitarist and vocals, the band took off along with Dave Robel on drums and Tony Meza on percussion and vocals. They started practicing in Marty's basement before having a name. After multiple practices and the consumption of multiple beers and multiple shots of Patron (tequila) they came up with the name The Tijuana Gigolos. With the addition of Jeff Boehmer on bass and occasional lead guitar and Tom Harvill ..'s, they started playing gigs. Having the advantage of living in the same town as the legendary nationally known Zoo Bar, they had the opportunity to open for and play with national acts such as: Billy Bacon and The Forbidden Pigs, The Hacienda Brothers, The Blazers, Los Super Vatos and many more. Playing almost exclusively original music, they started attracting fans. They released their first CD, "Do Ya' Wanna Go", in May of 2005. The band is working on their second CD to be released in the spring of 2007. News flash!!! New CD out June 8th 2007 "Tijuana Gigolos laid to waste" For booking send a message on our My Space
Lollipop Factory is back in Lincoln at Duffy's Tavern on Sun. July 5th at 10pm with Once a Pawn and Goddamn Rights!
our friend Matt says we're like Jellyfish performing a Satanic Majesty's request for a fuzz pedal cabaret or Queen melting in lava while Kenneth Anger films the whole ordeal in a lurid over exposed 8mm. our friend Corby says we're as inspired by Tim Burton as anything else, all Pee-Wee's Big Adventure goes to hell, all Beetlejuiced out. we say hey, at least it's music, and everyone could use a good show. come see us!

Are you FAC or late night band? FAC's work well for me, otherwise, I don't know what to do with myself, haha. I could bring my mini laptop hang out at the coffee shop for a bit, maybe watch a netflix, then come to the bar. I AM free on Friday. Just gotta watch the alcohol consumption. Hate to crash my new car, man! Hate to crash any car, really, haha.
Then my boss is bitching about my sick leave time...well, I needed it, and I haven't even used a week's worth. I emailed him a long letter. I might get in trouble for being so....blunt. But I just think it's ridiculous. There are special circumstances with me that he should not be bitching about it. It wasn't my immediate supervisor, but his boss, lol. I just go over heads. Silly me. But I feel strongly about this topic. I was identified as a 'problem employee'. It's not like me to call in sick if I don't need it, and I have been bringing doctor's notes even to say I shouldn't be here. But you know...whatever. How's the band you guys playing more or just a little bit. I thought you were trying to cut it down a bit.
same really, trying to buy a new house w/boyfriend, but they screwed up and now someone else wants to bid on the house, so hopefully we can win the bidding war. His dad and he were supposed to handle this on Monday, and they've waited until now...and still haven't done anything. So, now I get to pay an inspector today for basically no reason. Almost $500. I'm a little pissed off this week.
