Formed in April 2008, The Tijuana Sun initially consisted of 3 like minded musicians, looking to explore their influences further, emulating an amalgamation of their mentors. Their first year saw them play many great acoustic shows and recorded several live tracks/demos. Other 2008 highlights included supporting acts such as Ben Ottewell (Gomez), Greg Griffin (Proud Mary), Sergeant, and Polar Bear (Mercury Music Prize Winners).
Springtime 2009 has seen the 3-piece develop into 5 with the inclusion of a rhythm section, in the form of Simon Roberts (Bass) & Paul Barclay (Drums). Having unveiled their new Lineup in July 09 @ Tiger Tiger, Aberdeen. The lads have turned their already accomplished songs, into full band masterpieces, and are starting to gain a strong reputation locally as band to keep an eye on. A large following turned up to watch The Tijuana Sun perform at Aberdeen's Beach Ballroom on August 22nd, a historic venue in the city, who can include a performance by The Beatles, in it's catalogue of greats to play there. This was only the bands 4th gig as a 5-piece! Now that the ball is rolling vigorously, the band are in talks to add more prestigious live shows to their calendar throughout 2009, and have subsequently, brought forward booking dates in the recording studio, due to popular demand.

Heya Fergie & the boys! I always behave (when conscious)!
I am fantastic... watching dvd from my country.. And reminding my awesome times
while on tours - dancing and singing..
And im feeling very refreshed.. amazingly.. because once again.. my
weekend has been as fantastic as never... partied on a boogie bus with
colleagues, and then ended up in my favourite place.. and met my old
friends - reggae Swedish guy (his blond dreadlocks are like 2metres
long now;) and a friend from a band... so we rocked it out! Saturday -
went to a fight in the Hilton, where my good friend fought as last, won
the audience over and the game, of course, and unfortunate for his
opponent who was knocked down so harsh, that he was unconscious for about 15 mins.. Surely the big celebration followed
;)
