This is the place to find rare performances from The Tipphillbillies and the bands that spawned them, including rare and previously unavailable performances. To hear the latest music from The Tipphillbillies last release, "Recipe", please visit iTunes.com or cdbaby.com.
Members of the Tipp Hillbillies have been forerunners of the Americana music scene in Central N.Y. since the early eighties when their band was known as the Casual Dogs and they were performing their now legendary Thursday and Saturday night shows at Dooleyz tavern on Tipperary Hill in Syracuse, N.Y.
The T'billies have changed a few members since those heralded days, but have remained dedicated to the American roots, blues, rock and country sound that defined the band all those years ago. Other bands that have been formed by present and former T'billies include the groove oriented Z-bones, the hard rockin' Rail man, the Grateful Dead tribute band Homel & Alaniz, The Roustabouts, Dark Hollow, PennyJo Pullus and the folkie Mo'Hen whose 1996 release "Hennsylvania" achieved critical acclaim. T'billie alumni have also played with renowned national acts such as Dave Matthews, the Gib Droll band and David Nelson.
The band changed it's name from the Casual Dogs to the Tipp Hillbillies at the beginning of the new millennium in tribute to the town that nurtured their musical roots throughout the years and for the fans who continue to support the band's role as the true ambassadors of the y'allternative music scene of Central N.Y..
The bands 2005 CD Recipe, was voted the third best allbum of the year by Mark Bialczak of the Syracuse Post Standard. Bialczak referred to the album as "wonderfully reminiscent of such great pioneers as The Band, New Riders of the Purple Sage and yes, Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead". The T'billies plan on going back into the fabled Skunk City Studio in October 2005 to begin working on their next Casual Dogs Records release.
So whether you are one of our long-term fans, or you are only now becoming acquainted with the Tipp Hillbillies, we hope to see you at one of our upcoming shows. Y'all come back now!

Hey, dudes. I like that "White Trash" (and the song's okay, too). Hate to be picayune, but the proper spelling is "curtain", unless the song's about Jane. Sorry.
