John Gibson, Sarah Spelbring, Erin Johnson, Eric Ridenour.
Influences
We admire all Beatles, Byrds, Stones, Little Blind Bobby Dylan, Freedy Johnston, The Replacements, Richard Thompson, REM in the mumbling days, CCR, Wilco, Belle and Sebastian, Mojave Three, Odetta, Cat Stevens, Both Nics Drake and Jones, Lucinda Williams, and Liz Phair Before She Went All Brittney on Us. We admire and dig Nirvana and the Carter Family and Hank Williams and Buddy Holly and Jonathan Richman and many others to whom we never claimed to hold a candle.
Sounds Like
We've been likened to a group we've never heard called, "It's a Beautiful Day," but we think that's just because we used to have a violin. We've heard Belle and Sebastian, The Silos, Jonathan Richman, Bare Naked Ladies. We ourselves used to say we were what happened when The Violent Femmes meet Peter, Paul and Mary. We're flattered to be likened to anyone with actual carreers in music.
The folk-rock group known as The Toddlers has become an Evansville institution. With shows ranging from festivals to upscale coffeehouses to the dive bars, the Toddlers have time and time again won over audiences with their quirky, intelligent lyrics and folk-based rock-n-roll sound. Their three independently released albums have charted the band's progress as both great songwriters and performers.
The Toddlers' hymn to an unreliable rust-bucket of a 1972 Buick Centurion, "Oh, Great Car," was included on the newest music compilation CD from NPR's Car Talk, "Born Not To Run," available at finer stores and pledge drives everywhere. They suggest you get your copy as a perk when it comes time this fall to help out your local public radio station. And they remain, to this day, honored and astounded.

T. and I ran into John and Erin at G.D. Ritzy's (kaboom!) while we were in Eville for
Thankygiving. We had planned to crash your party that night, but instead I opted to watch cable at my mom's house while R.I.C.E.ing (Resting, Icing, Compressing, and Elevating) my ankle, which I sprained whilst a-trespassing at Wesselman's Park. Perhaps another time ....
