He is diverse (has collaborated with Urthboy, Bertie Blackman, The Bag Raiders, Katalyst, Braintax (UK) Georgia Anne Muldrow (USA) Muph And Plutonic etc), prolific (EP "Bad Education", LP "Shock And Awe", two mixtapes) and renowned for his impressive live show (as seen at Big Day Out, Sydney Festival and Good Vibrations)..
After forging a reputation as fierce battle MC (and representing Australia at the 'Battle 4 Supremacy' in 2005) The Tongue was signed to Sydney label Elefant Traks. His debut EP spawned two hit singles "The Punch" and "Bad Education" both which received heavy rotation on JJJ. The following year came his breakthrough debut album "Shock And Awe", and riding the success of jazzy love song "Real Thing" his tour sold out 10 shows around the nation. The following 12 months saw his reputation grow as he scored support slots for international acts such as Public Enemy, De La Soul and Dizzie Rascal.
Since then The Tongue has kept himself busy in a variety of ways; appearing on the "Elefant Traks 10th Anniversary DVD", releasing two album-length mixtapes "Redux" and "The Tongue Is Dead" (available at thetongue.com.au), performing spoken words sets at the Melbourne Poetry Festival and touring as a back-up vocalist with label-mates Astronomy Class.
Before the year is out he will be playing at the Peats Ridge Festival as well as joining US hip hop legend Pharoahe Monch on his national tour in December. The Tongue's second album will be released in 2010.

i'd be keen for something a little different, freestyle sounds good, problem being i don't live down there. might be down for pharoahe monch gig though so maybe could tee something up then? otherwise, i could get crackin on a writeup of some kind. also, i could try get ya some exposure in scene magazine in brissy or reverb in newy?
I just re-read your review of Summerland. How have you not been picked up as a columnist by Fairfax yet? Your witty offerings next to Miranda Devine on the opinion page each week? Comedy freakin central!
